I am a founder member of the Pan African NGOs Consortium on Agricultural Research (PANGOC) an umbrella for all African NGOs involved in agricultural research for development. I am also a founding member of Women in International Trade Negotiations and Environment in Tanzania (WITNE-T), a newly found non- governmental organization which links trade and agriculture, a forum acting as a force of change for women through building and strengthening their capacity, whom agriculture hold their future and are optimistic in increasing crop productivity and sustainable food production.

Tsakani Ngomane completed her PhD in Agricultural Extension and Education in 2004 at the Pennsylvania State University, USA. She is a Gestalt facilitator qualified in International Organization and Systems Development (2006) with the Cleveland Institute.

Jasper van Vliet is researcher at the Amsterdam Global Change Institute (AGCI) where he works on land change in general and agricultural land change in Europe in particular. Educated in Wageningen he has a background in geography with specializations in GIS and spatial modeling. His approach is mainly quantitative as applies a various models in his studies for the analysis of land change as well as for foresight studies.

I work as secretary general of the Asian Farmers Association (AFA), which is an alliance of national farmers federations and organizations in Asia, currently with 12 member organizations in 10 countries, representing 11m small scale women and men/ family farmers. AFA carries out programs on policy advocacy, knowledge management, enterprise development and governance. It conducts activities related to policy information, analyses and campaigns as well as dialogues with decision makers, both at national, regional and international levels.

Rural Sociologist with extensive experience in extension and gender in agricultural and rural development; more then 15 years experience engaging these issues through research, teaching and outreach in sub-Saharan Africa and other developing countries.
