The Rainwater Association of Somalia is a national non-governmental professional association that brings together with individuals and institutions of diverse professional backgrounds shared with common vision of sustainable livelihoods and socio-economic developments equal to all people in Somalia. It was officially formed on the 16th June 2005 and legally registered with the transitional federal government (TFG) of Somalia on 20th July 2005.

I am a Kenyan lady aged 23 and passionate about global issues pertaining to agriculture,agribusiness,sustainable rural development, food security and existing agricultural policies in Kenya. On the academic side, i possess a bachelor of agribusiness management from Egerton University. Currently am on internship at Plan International, Kwale as a project officer Livelihoods where together with my colleagues, we do capacity building on the best agricultural practices that can help the communities sustain themselves in the long term.

Licentiate student in Medical Sciences at Karolinska Institute (Sweden), and Bachelor (honors) in Veterinary Sciences at Eduardo Mondlane University (EMU); 5 years of experience at lecturing Food Hygiene and Food technology to Undergraduate students in Veterinary Sciences at the Veterinary Faculty in Mozambique, 3 years of experience lecturing food processing at Rural development High School of EMU and 3 years lecturing food safety and hygiene at Dom Bosco High Institute in Maputo; Consultant some governmental and private organizations in Meat Inspection (organizing short courses).

I am a Senior Multimedia Journalist working with The New Vision, Uganda’s leading daily. As a robust and resilient self starter, I am a widely published journalist with numerous awards.

I was awarded the Best Agribusiness/Environment African Journalist of the year 2010 under the annual Diageo Africa Business Reporting Awards. In the same year, I received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council and the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) for quality reporting on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) issues in Uganda.

An Agricultural Development Planning Expert with decades of experiences in the agriculture and development sectors. Presently, worked in the Livestock Policy and Planning Division of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Abuja, Nigeria
He had previously worked with the Lagos Polytechnic, Nigeria in Training and Research working majorly on the improvement of livestock management techniques and development of livestock production systems.

I am an Agricultural Research Officer in the Division of Livestock Research at the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry in Namibia, since September 2004. I holds a National Diploma in Agriculture from Ogongo Agricultural College, Namibia (2000); a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture, majoring in Animals Science from the University of Namibia (2003); a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Agriculture (2009) and Masters Science degree (Animal Nutrition) (2010) from the University of Free State, RSA.

Ashok Sansthan is an NGO working for the past 28 years in India's one of the most backward area of Uttar Pradesh. Ashok Sansthan is dedicated to reduce rural poverty, increasing food security and improving health and nutrition and ensuring more sustainable management of natural resources. We are closely working with CGIAR-IRRI on increasing the rice productivity. We are also working with CGIAR-ILRI to start to launch a m-kisan project in India to promote ICT based services in rural India. We are also working with Biovarsity International to promote biodiversity.
