Since 2006, working as Coordinator of Asia-Pacific Consortium on Agricultural Biotechnology (APCoAB), the biotechnology program of APAARI.
Started in 2004, by experienced agri graduates. full fledged company with research,production and marketing wings. focus on rice,cotton, bajra, tomao and hot peppers.R&D recognized by DSIR. reasonably large pool of germ plasm. Developed and released several new hybrids with strong pipeline back up. Have technical collaboration with ICRISAT in the form members of hybrid parent research consortium of pearl millet and sorghum. Research facilities include 60 ac of research farm and green house facility. shortly going to establish a bio technology lab.
I work for the Economic Justice Network of the Fellowship of Christian Councils in Southern Africa (EJN of FOCCISA). We are a secretariat of the fellowhip of 12 national councils of churches in the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC). I am a Food and Agriculture Programmes Officer since 2006. We work church councils in the southern Africa region and in other regions of Africa on food security advocacy.
At present, Dr K D Kokate is looking after one of the largest and unique Technology Application Systems in the World having more than 10,000 scientific and technical staff in 630 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs)/ Agricultural Science Centres across India.
Dr. K D Kokate has more than 360 scientific and technical publications to his credit published in nationally and internationally referred journals, books and magazines. He is bestowed with a number of prestigious national awards and honors. Notable among them is Life Time Achievement Award by the Society for Mobilization.
