Richard Strange is a Plant Pathologist and is currently Honorary Professor of Biology, University College London and Honorary Research Fellow in the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences, Birkbeck College, University of London. He has published over 100 papers and two books: Plant Disease Control, Towards Environmentally Acceptable Methods (1992) and Introduction to Plant Pathology (2003).
Director of International Programs, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) at the University of Florida. 25 years of international agricultural research and development experience includes project management; participatory research with smallholder farmers; capacity building for NARS scientists and NGO personnel; and the development, testing, and application of soil and crop growth simulation models. Held positions with the U.S. Peace Corps, Cornell University, the International Potato Center (CIP), and the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC).
