My career as a scientist in the field of Biotechnology and Plant Pathology favored the cooperation with other countries, especially with those growing citrus, both in Latin-America (Mexico, Costa Rica, Honduras, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Chile and Argentina), North Africa (Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco), Asia (India, Nepal, Vietnam and Bhutan) and the French Polynesia. Together with scientists of INRA and CIRAD, I participated in missions addressing the control of the “maladie des feuilles cassantes” of date palms, and the phloem necrosis disease of Hevea.

Dr Guido Gryseels holds a PhD in agricultural sciences. Dr Gryseels is currently Dir. General of the Royal Museum for Central Africa, Tervuren, Belgium. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Belgium’s Federal Science Policy and of the Fund for Scientific Research; he chairs the Jury that annually awards the Development Cooperation Prize. Dr Gryseels joined the ICARDA Board of Trustees in 2003 and was serving as a member of the Executive, Nomination and Program Committees before being Board Chair from 2006 to 2010.
Es Ingeniero Agrónomo graduado en la Universidad Nacional de La Plata (1972). En 1974 ingresó al INTA y se desempeñó como técnico en fertilidad de suelos en la Unidad de Edafología Agrícola del Centro de Investigaciones en Recursos Naturales. A principios de 1980 se trasladó a la Estación Experimental Agropecuaria Alto Valle de Río Negro para trabajar en la problemática del riego y drenaje de los valles irrigados de la Patagonia. En 1984 y hasta 1990 fue Director de esa EEA. A partir de 1990 asume como Director del Centro Regional Patagonia Norte con sede en la ciudad de Neuquén.
