Mr Jeremy Bird will be the Director General of the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) with effect from 1 October 2012 . He was the former CEO of the Mekong River Commission based in Vientiane, Lao PDR, an intergovernmental body responsible for cooperation on the sustainable development and management of the Mekong River.

Being a holder of Msc in Library and Information Sciences, I work as the Knowledge and information manager for the Africa Centre for Research on Bananas and Plantains (CARBAP), the regional banana research and development center for West and Central Africa. My duty include managing knowledge and information through apropriate communication channels, i.e. content generation, content management and dissemination, providing input in the implementation of the capacity building program, assisting in the management of innovation platforms in the field of banana research and development.

We are engage in empowering the mind of youths, women and children positively to enable them secure better places/status in society cause when their minds are charge positively there would not be rooms for hooliganism, mass unemployment and so on. Also we advocate for the right of youths, women and children while we create and enabling environment to rekindle those dreams they had that they thought will never come to pass.

I am a young Agricultural Scientist working under the Department of Agricultural Research, MALAWI. My Research areas include Molecular Plant Pathology and Plant Biotechnology. I hold a BSc degree from The Mzuzu University, Malawi, and just finished a MSc. Degree from Chancellor College of The University of Malawi. My recent work is on Genetic characterization and Epidemiology of Cassava Brown Streak Viruses in Malawi.
